Binita Bandyopadhyay, a postgraduate alumnus of Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan (M.F. A. Graphic Art, ) and presently associated to Grizzly College of Education, koderma.Jharkhand from 22nd to27th June, 2024 at Studio Lithos Graphein, Andul ,Howrah.
The prime objective of this workshop is to rejuvenate the art of Lithography, the ethnic medium and its practice in present days in the fine art arena.
This print making media was introduced and practised since 1796 , by Alois Senefelder, the author and actor in Germany. Through the passage of time, Lithography had a journey of drama advertisement, Commercial field, news paper printing, talkies posters and last but not the least in the field of fine art in the form of Graphics and printmaking.
Now-a-days in our country, Lithography is rarely practised though we carry the glorious history of Lithography and artists like Somnath Hore, Sanat kar etc. Binita Bandyopadhyay with her devoted spirit had setup a huge infrastructure of Lithography,in her own studio.
we are blessed with the Lithographic essence enriched with softness with delicacy, tonal quality with least Colour consumption, offset with a multiple reproduction.
INFAC, in near future will arrange many more workshops of such kind for this noble purpose.
