The goal may be distant, but awake, arise, and stop not till the goal is reached. —Swami Vivekananda

Project 1. Establishing a ‘State-of-the-art’ Multi- Specialty Hospital “

I shudder at the thought of the huge bill for treatment at a private facility. May be I would have had to sell properties to clear dues….” so said Amit Jana, a Covid patient [TOI/KOL./P.3/dated 28.06.2021].

We are aware of the fact that, in recent times, the available health care facilities in our country, especially in our state, have become almost out of reach of common people owing to prohibitive cost factor due to commercialization of India’s health sector in the last two decades, be it at the diagnostic level for investigations or in/out patients departments of private hospitals/nursing homes. People belonging to middle class group have also suffered from its adverse effect in many cases. Government hospitals are unable to provide 100% services to the citizens at large due to its many limitations. Quality private medical facilities are available mainly to the higher income corporate group of people but are not accessible by the masses of our country. Medical health insurance coverage amount, wherever available, is unable to match the ever-growing treatment cost in most of the cases. This has become more evident in Covid 19 pandemic situation in which we have been passing through since 2020.

In such a situation, Indian National Forum of Art and Culture (INFAC) has come forward in fulfilling its social objective to start a medical unit of its own with a vision to provide health care services at affordable costs to persons in need irrespective of caste, creed and religion through its proposed ‘State-of-the-art Multi- Specialty Hospital’ with corporate and public participations. The services to be made available will be spread over in two phases as under:

Phase I The first phase will begin with the treatment of out-patients suffering from different types of illness or malady of non-infectious nature in specified streams and making available to them diagnostic and investigation facilities under one roof.

Phase II The second phase will be dedicated to treatment of in-patients with 50 beds at the initial level which will gradually be enhanced to 200 beds.

Project 2   Establishing an old age home

In the present day nucleus family, sons and daughters remaining far away for multiple reasons, there remains, in most cases, hardly anybody to look after their aged parents. For single persons, the position remains same in advanced age. For them arrangements will be made for a safe home (men and women separate) where their well being will be looked after with full medical facilities made available to them at affordable costs in an environment compatible with their standard.

Project 3. Establishing a shelter for destitute children

There will be a separate shelter for destitute boys and girls where full facilities will be provided for their education and upbringing, with medical facilities made available to them free of cost.

 Administrative setup

A dedicated team consisting of members and activists of INFAC has been entrusted with the responsibility of materializing the projects. Once completed, each project will be managed by separate committees to be formed by the Board of Trustees of INFAC. 85% of the income received from diverse sources for social projects will be applied and utilised for the development and up-keep thereof.
